Can I print and photocopy in the library and how much does it cost?
Yes, you can send documents to the student printer when you are using a student PC in the library. Also, there are photcopying facilities available. Printing and photocopying will cost you 10 cents a sheet for a single-sided page or 20 cents a sheet for a double-sided page.
The library has DVDs on the shelves. Am I able to borrow a DVD?
DVDs can be borrowed for 1 week. If you are an external student residing out of town or a regional campus student we can post your library loans to your mailing address. Free postage is available to you when returning library loan items.

How long are library loans for?
The length of time allowed for a library loan depends on the type of item you borrow. DVD loans are for 1 week. Book loans are 1 month and magazines can be borrowed for 2 weeks. Some books are in high demand and are only available for 7 day loans. I am an external student studying at another TAFE. Can I use the computers at TAFE North?
Yes. You will be able to use your usual student network log in at any TAFE Queensland networked student computer to access the internet and my.TAFE course information online. You will also have access to information stored in your H:drive.
Can I use the student computers after my TAFE course has finished?
You will generally have between 1 - 2 weeks after your enrolment has expired where you will still be able to access the student computers. This is so you may complete any course work you might have gained an extension for and to transfer any important documents from your H:drive to a USB storage device. What do I do if I’ve forgotten my password?
Please ask you teacher to reset your password for you, or we can do that for you if you're in the library.
How do I log on to the student computers?
For your very first log on to the student computers you will need to enter your 10-digit student ID number as your USER name (you will find this number on your Student ID card) and then enter your 8-digit date of birth (ddmmyyyy) as your password.
